Epenesa Olo-Whaanga

Epenesa Olo-Whaanga MA (Hons), PGDipClinPsych, Registered Clinical Psychologist

Epenesa Olo-Whaanga is a clinical psychologist of Samoan descent. She has worked in a mainstream child, youth and family mental health service in Auckland for the past seven and half years.

Epenesa has held various roles within the service including running the Pasifika Parenting Support Group, helping establish the Riding the Wave Dialectical Behaviour Therapy programme, providing supervision, setting up a liaison role for professionals working with primary school aged children, and establishing a new infant mental health service with another colleague. She also works in private practice seeing children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, and also contracts to a variety of agencies including the New Zealand Police, Department of Corrections and Takanga Fohe- Pacific Island Mental Health and Addictions Service.

Recently she appeared as a guest psychologist on the television programme The Family Firm.
