Ailaoa Aoina is of Samoan descent (Satapuala and Malie, Upolu and Safune, Savai'i), living in Rotorua and working in the Bay of Plenty and Central Auckland areas. Ailaoa has been working with children, young people and families for the past 23 years in the social work field for the Department of Child, Youth & Family covering a variety of roles including social worker, supervisor, evidential interviewer, practice consultant and site manager. Ailaoa is currently working as a Trainee Psychologist at Child, Youth & Family, Bay of Plenty, Specialist Services, completing supervised practice hours towards Psychologist Registration.
